چکیده
Abstract The current study aims to investigate the effects of swell pressure on bearing capacity swelling soil. A model and some laboratory tests have been created effect variation soil due pressure. influence varying water content w / c dry unit weight (γ d ) shear strength was studied. has taken from Diwan Residential Compound-Mosul. It is classified as highly soils at their natural reached 385 kN m 2 . Experiment results show that parameters resistance decreased with increase constant value ), increased ( γ when constant. Results increase, while it increase. Also, obtained using pre-saturated selected 196 , 620kN taking into account in generation

Experimental and Numerical Study of Tension Bearing Capacity of Circular Skirted Foundations Resting on Sand Bed
Skirted foundations are an appropriate alternative to deep foundations in onshore and offshore structures, which have the ability to withstand uplift loads, are also easy to be installed. The tensile performance of skirted foundations on sand was studied by physical and numerical modeling. Laboratory tests were carried out on small-scale foundation models with peripheral skirts. Numerical model...
متن کاملExperimental and Numerical Modeling of the Effect of Groundwater Table Lowering on Bearing Capacity of Shallow Square Footings
The lowering of the groundwater table causes the area above the water table to become unsaturated and capillary phenomena to appear in this zone. This means that the bearing capacity of shallow footings will be influenced by capillary stress or matric suction. In this research, the effect of groundwater table lowering on the bearing capacity of a shallow square model footing on dense sand has b...
متن کاملAn experimental and numerical study on the bearing capacity of circular and ring footings on rehabilitated sand slopes with geogrid
This paper presents the results of a series of small-scale model tests and numerical analyses conducted on circular and ring model footings located near geogrid reinforced sand slopes. Layers of geogrid were used as reinforcement. For numerical analyses Finite Element Method (FEM) was used. The effects of reinforcement depth, size, number of layers, and the horizontal distance between reinforce...
